It is little wonder that young people demonstrate morally confused behaviour when their pop stars are so messed up. Take Eminem for example. Here's a guy that writes (creates) some of the most abusively anti-gay lyrics and then does a duet with Elton John a few years back at the Grammys.
Why, as a society we tolerate (and encourage!) singers who put to music such themes as fantasies of raping his own mother and jokes about domestic violence, when the average citizen would be locked up for mentioning such garbage!

I think it does fly in Canada, we are SO heavily influenced by our neighbors to the south. Much of our TV, music, entertainment, sports are all affected by America. There certainly seems to be a tonne of people around me in Canada that can't get enough of American culture (spec. music) and that's why I wonder why we allow this content to be palatable to us.
